In 6th grade, we do three types of essays, narrative, informative, and argumentative. Students will compose their essays using Google Classroom and Utah Compose.
Narrative writing tells a personal or fictional experience or tells a story based on a real or imagined event.
Informative writing is writing that informs. It is a type of nonfiction writing, which means it is factual. The purpose of informational writing is to convey information about something.
Argumentative writing is a genre of writing that requires the student to investigate a topic; collect, generate, and evaluate evidence; and establish a position on a topic in a concise manner.
